SPAN 313: Intro to Spanish Linguistics |
In this class, I learned about the structure of words focused on phonetics, phonology, syntax areas. This is very important because in order to understand any language it is necessary to know the root of its composition. In each class we focused on a different section for example, we always separate the words in syllables to locate the root, and then the sound. We also learned about the variety of accent that depends on the region or country in which it is spoken. We expand that knowledge throughout presentations. Each group had to analyze the Spanish accent of different countries of America and Spain. In my case, my team and I worked on the accent of the north of Spain. The conclusion we reached throughout those presentations was that there are some internal or external factors such as immigration that affect the language. For example in this country, the result of the creation of Spanglish is due to the influence of English. To conclude, this course brings us a closer understanding of the structure of the language.
