This class was an approach to the introduction of both Iberian and Latin American literatures. Through this class I learned that history does not only come in textbooks, but also in stories and novels. This was another way of knowing about important events and understanding the thinking of our societies over time. An example of this is "At night I am your horse" by Luisa Valenzuela. This story tells the dark history of the dictatorship in Argentina in the seventies, through two fictional characters that Valenzuela uses. In order to denounce the disappearances of thousands of men against the regime of Rafael Videla. In this class I also learned to interpret poetry, this includes its historical context, interpretation, literary movement, and the history of its writers. As a solid example is, my essay I wrote as part of my final, Rima LIII by Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer. The projects developed in my class like this helped me understand literature better and realize all these writings have a purpose in education
